Train Formation Service (Train Composition)

Data on the formations of passenger trains. Provided in three ways: vehicle-based, stop-based, or both. The data is limited to the railway undertakings (RUs) that provide their formations via the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and have consented to the publication of their data as open data.

Please note: from now on only version v2 should be used. URLs with ‘v1’ or without version code will no longer be supported as of 30 June.

The endpoints are:

• /information_stop_based: with focus on the overall composition at each stop

• /information_vehicle_based: with focus on the composition parts (vehicle)

• /formations_full: the combination of the other two end points

An API key must be used for access, see: https://opentransportdata.swiss/en/howto-access-apis/
